Our congregation proudly supports WELCA. WELCA is a women's organization within the ELCA. As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world. - See more at: http://www.womenoftheelca.org.
ALL women of the congregation are welcome to participate in the Zoom meetings and service projects throughout the year.
We have 1 circle group. Lydia Circle meets every Friday at 2pm via Zoom for prayer and share bible studies. _______________________________________________________________________________
Our WELCA Women have service projects that they support throughout the year including:
Pop Tabs: The aluminum pop tabs on the cans of various items such as soda are collected all year long. They are then donated to the Ronald McDonald House which provides loving and compassionate care to children and their families as they are dealing with significant and prolonged health issues.
Hygiene kits: Put together to give to the homeless community periodically throughout the year.
School backpacks: New backpacks are stuffed with school supplies to give to kids in need in the community. (see pictures below of a fun day as the ladies gathered to sort and stuff them!)
They also participate in the Annual Cluster meetings and Southeast Regional Conventions.
