OCTOBER IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH! On Sunday October 6th we celebrated Pastor Randy and his 31years of selfless, compassionate leadership of our congregation by re-naming our Narthex in his honor. We are incredibly grateful to him for over 30 years with us and for helping guide us to fulfill our biblical mandate to love & care for one another as well as love & care for others around us in need in our community & be a year round Matthew 25 Congregation. On SUNDAY OCTOBER 6th we had a Very Special Worship Service... our "Family & Friends Day." We enjoyed special music by Stephanie Banks, Soprano, a wonderful reception afterwards and more! We loved seeing you all!
The Memorial Service for Joseph Pitts will be held here at ROA on Saturday October 19th at 1pm in our Sanctuary. A reception will follow in our Fellowship Hall. Please continue to keep the Pitts family in your prayers during this very difficult time.
On JUNE 3rd we Launched a NEW summer lunch program to provide FREE lunches Mondays through Fridays in June and July to 100-120 homeless kids living near us on Memorial Drive who have no access to free lunches provided through the public school system. WE ARE THRILLED TO SHARE THAT WE PROVIDED 3000 MEALS TO THESE PRECIOUS CHILDREN THIS SUMMER THANKS TO ALL OF THE WONDERFUL SUPPORT BOTH FINANCIALLY AND THOSE WILLING TO MAKE SANDWICHES TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE MEALS!
IF you are able and interested, we would deeply appreciate ongoing financial donations to cover the expenses related to this program. 100% of the proceeds will go to this summer lunch program NEXT Summer as well as a NEW Children Feeding Ministry program that we are hoping to launch soon with a local Elementary School to provide food for 'at risk' kids on the weekends. 'The Emory University Urban Health Initiative" parked their Mobile Medical Bus in our parking lot and provided FREE Medical Services to the at risk families and persons living near our church on Memorial Dr.
This wonderful community outreach program is also supported by Healing Community Center and MedShare. Please enjoy a few pics from the day below!
